General beer brewing kit from local homebrewing store or order online. The brewing kit must include: two fermentors (a primary and secondary) , racking cane, bottle capper, air lock, hydrometer, thermometer, and bottling tip for filling bottles. |

A kettle is needed to bring your brew to boil |

You will need to bring 5 gallons of wort (unfermented beer) to a vigorous boil in a timely manner. You may be able to use your home stove as a heat source but I would recommend getting a turkey fryer. Most fryers even come with a stock pot. |
Following the boiling of the wort (unfermented beer) it will need to be cooled and done rapidly otherwise this can lead to the formation of DMS (off flavor). The best way to do this is to chill it with your outdoor tap water through a copper chilling unit. I strongly recommend getting one of these otherwise a cold ice bath will take longer and is a hassle. |

Beer bottles are needed when you complete fermentation. The cheapest route is to clean and sanitize previously used bottles but you can buy new bottles if you would prefer having dedicated homebrewing bottles. |
Beer Caps (Crowns) are needed to cap your beer. This will need to be purchased new. |
A Cleanser is needed to remove the fermentation residue, beer labels, and other junk that builds up on your brewing equipment. Cleansing is necessary to ensure your equipment can be easily sanitized. Do not use soap as a cleanser, it will ruin the head on your beers. |
A Sanitizer is needed to kill bacteria and wild yeast that will happily ruin a batch of beer for you. Do not brew beer if you are not sanitizing your equipment...its not worth it! |

The Ingredient Kit - its convenient for newbies. Beginners will need to use an extract kit. |
